Congratulations to Legacy Award Honoree Ethel Andersen   Leave a comment

Congratulations to our own Ethel Andersen for being honored by the United Way Women’s Leadership Council as a recipient of the 2012 Anna Shackleford Legacy Award, one of four awards given annually to Gwinnett’s exemplary women for their contributions of time, talents, treasure and legacy to the needs of our community.

A selection committee led by 2007 Honoree, Carole Boyce, and 2005 Honoree, Mary Root, included prominent women leaders and other past award recipients. The group evaluated an impressive group of nominees using an objective scoring system.

“Every woman nominated has used her unique gifts to make a meaningful impact on the Gwinnett Community. Our selection committee had a challenging task, but we are all proud to recognize this year’s outstanding honorees,” said Event Co-Chair, Jennifer Thilo.

Ethel’s decades of service have touched the lives of countless Gwinnett citizens. Ethel has helped  sustain many community organizations including the Gwinnett Council for the Arts, the Community Foundation of Northeast Georgia, the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation, the Gwinnett Coalition for Health and Human Services and the Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful’s Citizens Advisory Board to name just a few. A positive force in the Gwinnett Community, Ethel embodies all the qualities recognized by the Women’s Leadership Council’s highest award.
